About The Artist

 Hello, my name is Wendy McLaughlin.  My paintings can be categorized within the niche of "Contemporary Regional Realism",  with a particular emphasis on Long Island landscapes and coastal scenes. My paintings are executed in mediums such as acrylic, pastel, and watercolor, depicting local beach vistas, farm settings, and maritime activities. These works reflect my deep connection to the natural and cultural environment of Long Island; capturing the spirit of my surroundings  with a realistic  touch.   I also  do seasonal art in celebrating of various holidays.   Requests for commissions are given consideration and appreciated.  

I have studied art under the tutelage of 3 Long Island Artists: JLee Elsbree of Center Moriches, NY.  She is an artist and life- long art instructor.

Marlene Bezich an award winning pastel artist, her Deerview Studio in Middle Island, NY.  Finally with Mary Jane Stevens for watercolor instruction with numerous artistic awards for her watercolor paintings.  Her studio located in Brookhaven, NY,.

I have been the recipient of international recognitions for my art from the Camel Back Gallery, Scottsdale, AZ twice  (May 2025 most recently) ; and have been selected and published in two  art magazines, “World Wide Art” published by Artavita and Spotlight Contemporary Art magazine, published by Circle Foundation For The Arts.  I also received a finalist “International Achievement Award” for my acrylic painting of Moriches Yacht Club Sailboat Race.   I have been a featured artist on the cover of Dan's Papers in July and December of 2022, (a lifestyle paper for the Hamptons and Montauk, Long Island).  My painting of Baha's Farm Stand was selected for a juried exhibit at East End Arts, Riverhead NY.   I am honored to have been invited to exhibit my art at the Westhampton Beach, New York Performing Arts Center.   May 2025 took 2nd Place in the South Bay Art Alliance Annual Membership Show in the "Brushstrokes" category.   I welcome you to browse my Gallery and hope you enjoy what you see.
